Complete renovation of the facades of the district house of Nordfriesland in Husum

The facades of the Nordfriesland district council building in Husum are undergoing a comprehensive energy refurbishment while the authorities based there continue to operate. The vertical building envelope, consisting of new windows and curtain-type, rear-ventilated facade cladding, will in future comprise around 2,900 m² of glass facades. Large-format glass elements made of ESG-H glass, which are attached to the gable surfaces with clamps on a system rail substructure, will be used. The facades of the district assembly hall will be fitted with large-format laminated glass elements. All glass panels will be provided with a decorative layer on the back, which will have a shell limestone look.

Additional decorative elements depict the outline of the district of North Friesland with its coastline and the lettering “Kreis Nordfriesland” and show a depiction of three historic, three-masted sailing ships, taken from the coat of arms of the district of North Friesland.

A timber construction company that specializes in building with prefabricated facade and building envelope elements has taken on the entire contract. On behalf of this company, CONSENS Bautechnik GmbH is carrying out the suspended, rear-ventilated facade cladding.
