Hamburg creates modern learning environment – Consens the fiber cement facades for it
New, innovative spaces for modern teaching are being created at Brekelbaums Park. A new building with flexible, spacious teaching areas, a modern IT infrastructure and an attractive canteen, sports hall, auditorium and library is being constructed on the site of a former trade school. There are plans to establish a vocational school campus here for over 2,000 students. Housing for trainees is also to be built on the site. The Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg is investing a total of around 100 million euros in the project, to which CONSENS Bautechnik will contribute the fiber cement facades and aluminum panels.
Modern architecture for Brekelbaums Park
Winking Froh Architekten from Hamburg came out on top with their design. The office succeeded in optimally positioning the buildings required for the vocational schools and the vocational college on the site while at the same time preserving the existing trees to a large extent. Compartments of up to five storeys, each measuring 500 square meters, allow for practical and flexible teaching. CONSENS Bautechnik GmbH – in collaboration with Winking Froh Architekten and SBH | Schulbau Hamburg – will now start with the VHF planning. The facade construction work will be carried out from the end of 2024.
