The new office building in Itzehoe has been completed and we, as specialists for the building facade, are proud to have been part of this project. CUSTOMCELLS, one of the leading companies in the development and series production of state-of-the-art lithium-ion battery cells, has expanded its long-established site in Itzehoe. With a modern, sustainable office complex in an innovative timber construction, the company is creating a new working environment for its growing number of employees – and is also making a long-term commitment to the city of Itzehoe and the Schleswig-Holstein energy coast.
With the new building, CUSTOMCELLS is underlining its claim to think and act sustainably along the entire value chain. The modern timber construction was built by Gebr. Schütt KG from Landscheide as a turnkey project using a modular, serial and therefore particularly resource-efficient construction method. The metal facade planned and executed by CONSENS Bautechnik completes the client’s sustainability strategy through the deliberate choice of a rear-ventilated curtain wall facade construction, which in the chosen design with aluminum plug-in panels is both resource-saving in terms of material and durable and low-maintenance in terms of its life cycle. The facade also enhances the building immensely and gives the new building a modern, appealing look.
Thanks to the elemental timber construction method in combination with the completely prefabricated VHF construction, the 4-storey building was erected in a construction time of just one year. We are delighted to have been part of this impressive project!
