CONSENS Bautechnik GmbH has been commissioned with the construction of the complete facade cladding of the new infection ward building at Itzehoe Hospital following a VOB/A tender.
The ventilated facade cladding will consist of both clay tiles and glass composite panels; the work also includes the installation of aluminum exterior doors, plastic windows and sheet steel doors. The facades, windows and doors will be installed from fall 2020 after completion of the building shell.
The state of Schleswig-Holstein is funding the new ward as a model project and is bearing a large part of the total construction costs of 16.5 million euros, which the Itzehoe Clinic has budgeted for the entire construction project. The new building will have a total gross area of 5,100 square meters and 44 patient beds. It will have its own operating room, monitoring stations, airlocks for equipment and staff as well as its own ambulance access with airlock.
