As part of its energy-efficient refurbishment, the high-rise residential building was given a new facade cladding made of prepainted aluminum in white and various shades of gold. Execution: CONSENS.
The building complex, which is divided into three blocks, extends over an entire street and borders a busy ring road in Hamburg-Altona. The 18-storey residential building was completed in the first construction phase as part of a section-by-section modernization, which included all aspects of energy saving, building physics and fire protection as well as the construction and design of the buildings.
Built in the early 1970s, the building with 137 apartments was given a significant architectural upgrade, particularly thanks to its new facade design. The curtain-type, rear-ventilated facade was clad with plug-in panels made of coil-coated aluminum in white and three different shades of gold. The expressive colors and the lively horizontal structure of the panels give the building a new self-confidence.
