From summer 2023, Consens will be installing the ventilated rainscreen cladding on a new office building in Emstek, Lower Saxony. The preparatory work, such as structural analysis, work and installation planning and material planning, which is very urgent and extremely important in times of disrupted supply chains and constantly rising material prices, is already underway.

Anodized aluminium expanded metal was chosen for the facade cladding of the new media center, which is mounted on a thermally bridge-optimized stainless steel/aluminium combination substructure. In addition, 220 mm thick mineral fiber thermal insulation is installed behind the expanded metal cladding to achieve outstanding insulation properties for the entire facade construction.

In order to protect the insulation from the driving rain and UV exposure that is inherent in expanded metal facades, a non-combustible facade underlay is installed between the expanded metal and the insulation, which is both functional and decorative.

Taking advantage of the large selection of materials and the wide range of design options offered by VHF constructions, individual sections of the facade are finished with flat, large-format aluminum sheets in a contrasting color.

Completion of the three-storey office building on the 20,000 square meter site is scheduled for autumn 2023.
